James’s journey began at the University of Minnesota, where he played a pivotal role in advanced research on neutrino detection. As a junior and assistant scientist, he led teams in the construction and verification of PVC electron neutrino detectors, showcasing his early leadership and technical skills.
In 2014, James transitioned to Seagate Technology as a Systems Integration Engineer. Here, he was instrumental in integrating new firmware features for Enterprise SSDs, developing rigorous tests in C and C++, and automating processes with Python. His contributions significantly enhanced the performance and stability of Seagate’s SSDs, demonstrating his ability to drive innovation in complex technical environments.
James’s foray into blockchain technology began at Animoca Brands, where he spent over six years working on blockchain integration, game programming, and decentralized applications (DApps). His work on Ethereum-based applications and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) positioned Animoca Brands at the cutting edge of the blockchain gaming industry.
In 2022, James joined Red Door Digital as a Blockchain Developer, focusing on Ethereum, smart contracts, and NFTs. His innovative solutions in decentralized applications paved the way for his role at We3D Design Studio, where he served as a Blockchain and Full-stack Developer. At We3D, James developed decentralized applications and smart contracts, further honing his expertise in blockchain technology and full-stack development.

Since joining AI Square in March 2024, James has been at the helm of engineering excellence as the Head of Engineering.
